Fly Me towards the Moon...Rolex Watch Makes History!

Recently, Heritage Auctions in Dallas, Texas offered up for bid a Rolex GMT in chromium steel in a with their sales.

I know the pain you are thinking...I've got one, issue.
And you are right! On an average day you'll find so many GMT Masters up for sale online, in dealers shops, at watch shows etc. They sell for approx. $4500-5000 if in good condition.

This watch was that, and also a somewhat more. This one dated returning to 1968; all original, except that one was in which you watch of Apollo 17 Command Module Pilot, Ron Evans.

He'd placed it into his Personal Preference Kit which has been delivered to the moon by crewmates Gene Cernan and Harrison Schmitt aboard the Lunar Module, "Challenger", while he orbited the moon from the Command Module "America."

It remained about the moon for approximately 75 hours on what, even today, was a final manned lunar landing mission.

That provenance my local freinds, made this watch worth $131,450 on auction day.
